The History Of Spruce Studios.
Spruce Studios was formed 20 years ago in
the heart of Devon's incredibly beautiful countryside. It rapidly
became well known and respected for its work, not only in post
production, but the filming, arrangement and directing of a
full scale production. We still operate strictly on a freelance
basis. With only the staff we absolutely need to make your movie
special on board, we remain free from high production costs
whilst still catering precisely to your needs.
All editing, titles and even the voice-over's
by the BBC's Bob Symes are completed in house using only the
latest digital technology. As such we're delighted to offer
a broadcast quality end product, the reduction in production
costs happily represented in our fees.
We have worked on numerous
international projects spread as far as America, South Africa
and the Far East - in addition to our UK based productions for
advertising, promotions, infomercials. We are also specialists
in short films for garden railways enthusiasts.
Our passion for delivering
a professionally finished product remains utmost at all
times, from filming and editing to packaging and distribution.
Second best is simply unacceptable. As such, we're proud to
have achieved considerable success overseas, our acclaimed narrator
Bob Symes presenting some of our railway productions on Austrian
& German network television.
Charity Work
Further to our professional
products, Spruce Studios actively support Ingfield Manor School
in Sussex. We provide our services free of charge for the filming
of their annual open day, subsequently donating a large percentage
of the DVD sales back to the school. The Manor Railway, owned
by Lynn Stratton, is a delightful 10.25 inch line, intermingling
with the impressive grounds of the school. The total length
of the line is a little shy of a mile. It gives a great deal
of pleasure to the children resident in the school and the families
of those who take time to see it.
