V.S.O.E - Venice Simplon Orient Express
Filmed in 1995 and presented by well known rail enthusiast and former BBC Broadcaster Bob Symes and Mary Jean Hasier, his co presenter on the highly successful “Making Tracks” series. They travel on the restored “Orient Express” all the way from London to Venice, via Paris. Why not join them on this rail journey.
Ever since it first took to the rails in 1883, the Orient Express has been known as the finest train Europe could boast. It was called the “Grand Hotel On Wheels”. Sometimes it was referred to as the railway link between Europe and the East. Anyone who was anyone with a name, title or military rank travelled at least once on this famous train. Sometimes the train was the star, even starring in two of the most famous films to be made: Agatha Christies, “Murder On The Orient Express” and the James Bond film “From Russia With Love”. In both occasions , the train took top billing.
